FAQ

What is sugaring?
Sugaring is an all-natural form of hair removal. Using organic sugar at body temperature, it is delicate on all skin types. We pull the sugar in the same direction as hair growth which removes the entire hair bull resulting in permanent hair loss over time.

Waxing vs. Sugaring?
Sugaring lasts longer, is better for sensitive skin, and is more effective over time than waxing. Where waxing uses synthetic ingredients, sugaring is all-natural. Wax attaches to the skin, and therefore can burn or pull off the top layer along with the hair. When waxing, hair is pulled in the opposite direction which can result in ingrown hairs. Sugaring on the other hand, is pulled in the natural direction of hair growth taking only dead skin and the entire hair bulb with each pull.

Waxing also uses wooden sticks or paper to remove wax from skin which can leave uncomfortable residue and creates waste. Sugaring uses only all-natural sugar which is better for the skin and the environment. We believe in working with our bodies, not against them.

How long does my hair have to be?
Unlike waxing, sugaring can grab onto shorter hair growth at ¼ inch.

How do I prepare for my sugaring appointment?
Exfoliate the intended area the night before your appointment.

How often should I be sugaring?
If you are new to sugaring, your first three appointments should be timed four weeks apart. This allows the hair to get on the same growth cycle so that hair is pulled from the first cycle every time for longer-lasting results.

After the initial three appointments, hair growth can vary between 3-5 weeks. We offer maintenance pricing for clients returning within this time frame.

What kind of sugar do you use?
We use sugar made of organic sugar, organic citric acid, and water.

How much does sugaring hurt?
We’re not going to sugarcoat this; the first time can be painful. However, with continued sugaring you’ll have less hair growth which means less pain! Continue sugaring at regular intervals for the best results and most comfortable experience.

How long will my appointment be?
It depends on the area. Brazilians are 30-45 minutes and full-legs are 45 minutes.

Do you accept male guests?
We welcome male clients for most areas. Male brazilian clients are only accepted with Laura upon referral.

Are there any do’s or don’t after sugaring?
Be gentle with yourself. Avoid steam or hot showers for the first 24 hours. Within 48 hours after your appointment use our Rose after spray to calm and sooth the skin. Following the initial 48 hours, you can lightly exfoliate and apply our Bye Bye Bump spray to prevent ingrown hairs.

What products do you use for facials?
We use only 100% organic products selected specifically for your skin. Our product lines include Bon Bon Beauty Skincare, Bio elements, and Kimberly Sayer.

What steps are involved during facials?
Starting with a thorough consultation, we identify your skin concerns and goals. We begin the facial with calming relaxation rituals. Once you are completely relaxed, we perform a superficial cleanse followed by a deep cleanse. Once the skin is entirely cleansed, we analyze the skin and create a personalized treatment plan.

Next, we apply an exfoliating mask and perform a soothing hand and arm massage followed by a facial massage. We then apply the treatment mask and go into a scalp massage. We finish the facial by locking in the treatments with skin enhancing serums and moisturizers.

How do I decide which facial to get?
The skin concern you would like to focus on will determine the facial you select. If you are unsure which facial is best for your skin, choose the New Client facial to get started.

What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24-hour notice for cancellation by phone or email. If the appointment is cancelled within less than 24 hours, 60% of the service amount will be charged to the card on file.
