Meet Cordelia and the inspiration for giving back to animal based foundations.
As a puppy, Cordelia was brought to a vet with a crushed head and was signed over to be euthanized. The vet thought that with the right caring home she could live a normal happy life. He contacted the All Terriers Rescue Group and handed her over as a special needs dog. Due to her injury she had nerve damage that caused her to wobble when she walked so the rescue group fittingly named her Wobbles.
Unfortunately, the trials and tribulations did not stop there. Cordelia, aka Wobbles, kept contracting kennel cough and had to be taking to the vet several times before they put her on heavy antibiotics that ate away most of her adult teeth.
With a free and clear bill of health, and less teeth, she was put up for adoption where I found her on petfinder.com. I meet her at pet store and fell in love. She was a weak and pitiful little pup who could hardly walk upright. My heart melted and I signed the papers to adopt her. I took her home gave her a bath and watched her grow and thrive with our other dogs, Romeo and Shakespeare. The two boys taught her to play and go in and out of the doggie door. They were gentle and understanding when they played with her. It was a very touching bond for the dogs and our family.
Today, Cordelia is a thriving, smart, loving, unique little diva who is a huge part of our family. Without that rescue group I would not have the happiness and love that she brings to my and my family’s life. For the gift that All Terriers Rescue Group gave to me I am giving back to rescue groups for animals.
